The 6th BEFF Babul Eco Film Festival, held from June 1st to 5th, 2022. The festival commenced with a traditional tree-planting ceremony (Vruksharopan) performed by Actor Madala Ravi. 6th BEFF unfolded across multiple locations, including GNITS, Sri Sarathi Studio, and Pragathi Resorts Sudama. The festival garnered significant international participation, receiving 51 films with 37 selected for screening comprising 15 short films and 22 green films, representing filmmakers from 25 countries. A distinguished Jury, consisting of Jury Chairman Sivannarayana Naripeddi.
(Telugu Actor, Writer, Director), Dr. K. Syamala Devi (Professor of Environmental Science at GNITS), B.V. Seshagiri (Advocate), Anil Kumar M (Social Worker), Nagesh Chaitanya (Director) and Anuradha Raju (Primary School TR in Waldorf School, Hyderabad), evaluated the films. The Katikam Memorial Award was presented to Pat Boran for the short film “Lost and Found,” who joined the screening virtually and answered audience questions.
Many fun and interactive eco-activities like EcoShooter, EcoCartoon, EcoDoctor, EcoFit, EcoTambola, Who am I and FunDuChallange etc., were part of the Festival. These activities engaged attendees of all ages and helped solidify the connection between Environmental awareness and a healthy lifestyle.
The hashtags for 6th BEFF are #beff2022 and #babulecofilmfestival which helped in creating a buzz in the Social Media. The Film Festival got covered in Telugu & English Print and Electronic media.
