The Babul Eco Film Festival (BEFF) combined its due to the pandemic, hosting the event on December 25th and 26th at Sri Sarathi Studio.
The 4th BEFF scheduled for June 2020 could not be held due to the Covid situation and lockdowns. The 5th BEFF also could not be organised as per the original schedule of June 2021 due to the pandemic. BEFF 4th and 5th editions were combined and held during December 2021. The festival commenced with a traditional tree-planting ceremony (Vruksharopan) performed by Tanikella Bharani, playwright, Telugu film actor, writer and director . The festival showcased a variety of environmental films sourced from Filmfreeway, Festhome and direct submissions. Total of 79 films were selected and screened including 35 Short Films and 44 films of more than 5 min duration. The event featured a distinguished panel of guests, including Raghuveer P IFS (Retd) (Jury Chairman), Tirupati Reddy (Organic Farmer ), G B K Rao (CMD, Pragati Sudama ), Dhiraj Kaveri (StayActive Vidhi ngo), Jayanthi Sampath Kumar (IT Professional, Runner), Poojitha Jonnalagadda (Actor, Telugu Film industry), Himani Gupta (Social worker Kriti ngo ), Dr. N Bhaskar Rao (CMS Vatavaran, Delhi ), and Fathima Nezrin (Environmental Science Researcher). The KCVSR KMA Memorial Award was presented to “Painting by numbers” by Radheya Jegatheva of Australia “Eden” by Eva Maria Urbano Mora of Spain, and “Finite Soil” by Isidro Jimenez Gomez of Spain.
